Why Rubber Latex

100% Latex

is Natures Way

Natural rubber latex

A milky fluid that consists of extremely small particles of rubber obtained from plants, mainly from the rubber tree(Heveabrasiliensis), dispersed in an aqueous medium. To collect the latex, trees are tapped (much like maple tress) and the latex drops into cups or buckets.Products are then formed from natural rubber latex by dipping, extruding, or coating via the natural rubber latex (NRL) process.

It possesses components which make for ideal elasticity which allows the mattress to conform perfectly to your body. After the milky substance, also called serum, is collected, the trees bark heals rapidly and can yield latex for as long as 30 years.

Latex can be divided into two main categories.

  • 1) what materials are used to make it
  • 2) how the latex foam material is made

100% natural latex refers to beds that do not utilize any synthetics or chemicals.

Latex liquid is made into mattresses using either the Dunlop or Talalay method. The Dunlop method is the traditional method, which is more widespread and also less expensive to produce. The Talalay process adds a few ingredients and steps, making it more expensive.

With modern manufacturing, both processes can yield consistent, durable foams in a variety of firmness. Currently, the only certified organic latex foam is made in the Dunlop process, though natural latex is available in both.

Dunlop process tends to produce a firmer mattress. In contrast, the Talalay process creates a softer mattress.

Where does it come from?

100% Latex

is Natures Way

Although the tree hails from the Amazon rainforest, it was brought to Southeast Asia, which now produces most of the commercial latex.

Why is it the best?

100% Latex

is Natures Way

As we become more committed to buying eco-friendly, organic, and more natural products, purchasing a 100% latex mattress becomes a personal imperative. Since you spend more time on your mattress than on any other piece of furniture, it makes enormous sense to invest in a 100% Latex Mattress.

What 100% truly means

100% Latex

is Natures Way

The latex collected from the rubber tree is whipped into liquid foam in a centrifuge, poured into molds or continuously onto a belt tray and steam baked. In order to be as close to the ‘organic certification’ as possible only tiny amounts of antioxidants are added maintaining the highest possible natural state and quality.
